Would it be prudent to remind certain individuals who post questions to this group that the words 'PLEASE' and THANK YOU' do not take long to type. One poster in particular is a certain [edited by AnswerBank], who seemingly has never heard of these words.

Would it be prudent to remind you that this group is for suggestions to improve the site? ROFL.
politeness would certainly be an improvement, but I don't suppose it's something that can be taught by a website. You can always just refuse to answer the more abruptly expressed questions.
At least the poster in question has aknowledged the answers with star ratings.

The vast majority of answers on this site tend to elicit no response whatsoever, thus leaving you to wonder if the originator has ever read the answers to their post.

Hi puzzleRus

A simple post in an ABers thread, informing them that a "thanks" or a star rating would be much appreciated, would suffice.

Most ABers, especially our Quiz and Puzzlers would gladly take the advice in good faith.

AB Editor,

In answer to your suggestion, if you would care to check your records, you will find that one poster has indeed expressed the view that it is a pity that a particular beneficiary of answers to questions has failed to acknowledge such assistance.

Oh get over it, puzzlesRus. The majority of people who ask questions do not say thankyou so why are you picking on one? Just because one other poster feels the same about things as you do, does not make it right that you use suggestions to try and get people to do what they feel they have no obligation to do. You cannot make people courteous in real life, so what makes you think you can on here? I have many people not thanking me for my answers so I have two choices, either stop giving answers or live with it. I choose to live with it, as most do. Why cannot you?

I spot a bitching transfer here.

Without CB to sound off in, the bitching hasn't stopped. People still (by the looks quite legitimately) get hacked off with each other, and other get wound up by that in turn.

For my on 2p worth, I think that a star is just plain lazy. If you can't be bothered to thank people, then that is simply RUDE. However, the easy answer to this is to not help out those people again. Ditto with refusing to answer rudely worded questions, or questions that aren't a question at all.
