Why Can I See Someone's Whatsapp Profile But Others Cant

Hi all

The title basically asks my question. I have a number on my phone and I can see the persons full whatsapp profile including profile pic, status, when they are online etc.

I put the number into an old phone of mine and I can't see anything. Can only see when they are online, I was wondering if it was a glitch on my really old phone so I asked a friend to save the number and see if she could see anything. She couldn't.

So does that mean because I can see the full profile that the person also has my number stored (adjusted the Whatsapp settings to show profile to contacts only).

I hope my ramblings make some sort of sense lol.

What operating system has the old phone got? Whatsapp is no longer compatible with Android versions prior to 4.0.3. (If it's an iPhone you iOS 9 or later).

I have an iphone x, my old phone is an Iphone 6 updated ios 12.5.2 which is the latest update. My friends phone is an Iphone 12.
Only my iphone X is showing the profile pic and their about info.

Try uninstalling, and then reinstalling, Whatsapp. It could be a problem with the app itself.

Nothing happens. I can still see the full profile and others can't. I can only assume this person has my number stored
