Could there be an extra option for "irrelevant answers"?

I am sick of returning to a post thinking I've got an answer on a release date of a book or album to find out the reply is "dont bother its cr4p" and the next one is "no it isn't", "yes it is" etc. Or could there be any way to let the 'poster' remove chatty threads from their own post?

There already is an option for irrelevance/chat.

I've just used it to report this question.

The fact that there already is an option for 'irrelevant answers' makes it an irrelevant question.

Didn't really report it though - just joshing.

Hi chazza,

You can Report an answer for being "irrelevant or chat" - unfortunately, you will receive an email notification whenever the thread is updated with a new post, the automatic process does not distinguish between relevant and those "don't bother its c***" answers.

The only solution really is to stop receiving email notifications by clicking on the "Got Answers" link next to the original Question.

Hope this helps
