Perhaps we need a little light entertainment on AB today.

So, what's the strangest, most useless or unwanted gift you've ever been given? My ex once got me excited all day saying he'd got a present back at his house for me. Imagine my disappointment when he gave me a Henry Hoover. He genuinely thought I'd be overjoyed with it. I could have wrapped it around his neck.

What about you?

Mr.Sam, many many years ago got me kitchen knife, albeit an expensive one. I nearly stabbed him in the back with it.
I've never had one. Although if I needed a new hoover and he bought me one I'd be happy but he wouldn't get me excited about it.
a braun mixer !..still have it..not him though..lol

I remember once he gave me a really smutty card on Valentine's Day. I was mortified.

Sam, I can imagine your disappointment. My step-father got my mother an iron and a wax jacket for their first Christmas as man and wife.

It's my wedding anniversary this Thursday. I hope I don't get a kitchen appliance!
We just don't do presents or cards. Can't go wrong that way.

My Mum once bought my Dad a load of horse *** for his birthday, as a bit of a joke. He was delighted!
My Mum once bought me a pair of pale lemon kitten heel shoes for Christmas - not a clue why.
"She who must be obeyed" once asked for a belt and a bag...…...The hoover went a treat after I fitted them.
0h ! A few years back I bought my woman and myself a Henry each. I don't recall either of us being underjoyed. Both been in regular use since (hers more than mine, naturally).
What's a "Henry" ?
