Dear Ed it is now imperative that we get the Biddybank up and running as us "oldies"are just getting lost in the CB and miss out on each other. It's getting very lonely now. I love the youngsters and their threads are quite amusing but it's all a million light years from where I want to be. Thanx xxx

aw neti, but we all love you in cb :-(
neti, someone posted a joke today that turned on knowing the song 'Riding Along on the Crest of a Wave', and nobody had ever heard of it. An OAP corner wouldn't be a bad idea for reminiscences about songs like that, crinolines, Model Ts and so forth.
And the gangs all here !!
They've never heard of Ralph Reader! Dreadful.!

neti I've said this before but you're psychic! I sat here all lonely this afternoon thinking of posting exactly the same thing but I thought you'd all deserted the sinking ship & I'd just be talking to myself. Even Vinny hasn't been around much & I need a word about the Lion Poo business. (mind you it won't be long before he comes zooming in in his Bubblecar now there's the whiff of mothballs in the air).

Great to see a few of us are still around (& alive) ..... Come on Ed!!

What's this amp; thing all of a sudden - every time I use the & ???? Flippin technology...grumpy grumble....

Wakey..Wakey....Them kids havent lived have they!!sitting on the doorstep, shedding the peas on a sunday morning for your mum.with Billy cotton and his Bandshow..belting out on the old EKCO radio set.Robinia...the old bubble cars were great...would solve a lot of todays problems on the road..!!

bubble (:)

Question Author
oh yes vinny and crunching on the peapod. I would be terrified of going in a bubblecar now. So you see ED we are still waiting.

Hi Neti, yes it's now time for a BiddyBank category! I can't believe how quickly posts disappear down the page!

Hi Robinia, if we do get a BiddyBank, I'll send you a piece of my crumble for naming it. Also, I was going to post a Q on here this morning, asking how & where you were, but see that's all well.

Hi Vinny - Wakey, wakey, Billy Cotton Band Show! You brought back so many lovely memories of a typical Sunday morning - this does too:

WQhen we do finally get the Biddybank - I will post my old wartime identity card for all the youngeters to see.
Ah..What a lovely picture Smudge(:)Do you remember in the afternoon on a sunday..Mr Whippy and mr Softee would come around..wow..soft...icecream!!...what a great invention(:)
Question Author
Vinny - unfortunately we lived in a "posh" area in Eastbourne and the ice cream man didn't come round. We had to wait for the summer so we could have a 3d one by the bandstand. Mind you there were 9 of us kids so maybe it was just as well.

Thanks Vin. I remember Leo's Ices - they were the most delish cornets, wafers and Teddy Bear lollies to be had! (Not forgetting Jubblies).

There were 10 children in our family Neti (not at home all at once mind). Poor old Mum, she must have dreaded hearing the ice cream man's bell as he slowed down outside our house - looking in her purse to see if she could afford it!

Oh, I'm nearly in tears now - I'd best be off!

Hi All,

Nice to see the ole gang all here. Thanks again for this suggestion, and we do hope to introduce some new features on the AnswerBank in the coming months. Wish I could pass on more details, but wouldn't be prudent at this time!

now now smudge, no tears on the AB!

AB ED

Question Author
Ah Ha methinks the old Ed is one of us in reality.

Neti you might be right!

Are you a youngy or an oldy Mr Ed?

Hi all - love the pics hehe!!

Thanks Ed please do your best. I'm sure that we would draw quite a few ABers in from the 'normal' categories. There'd be more than just a handful of us unlike CB which now seems to be mainly the same dozen or so with the occasional visit from others.

I loved that shelling peas picture.Thank you smudge.
Reminds me of my dear old Dad who used to grow all our veg.
By the time we had shelled the peas there may have been a couple left to boil !! I used to love them fresh out of the pod and would merrily munch away as I shelled.

; o)

I spy with my little eye someone beginning with FP!!

Helloooo you!!!
