A new section for all those people who can't make their own minds up about anything, or ask questions that can easily be answered by going into other websites? Or perhaps the AB Editor could filter these out BEFORE they reach The Answerbank? And I also apologise for my recent cartload of facetious questions over several categories.....but there are people answering them! See what I mean?

hi birchy, i have asked questions before that i could have found out the answer to by googling, but i think its nicer to ask on here.  I posted a question in science the other day and got a brill response and also found out much more than i had actually asked for in my post which was really nice.

The questions that I am referring to are the "Who thinks salt is better than trifle?" nonsense. Also "Who were football's European Champions League winners in 2000?". I take your point re-expanse of answers, but there are far too many timewasters with little to no imagination. This isn't a refuge for the terminally bored, surely?

Hi Birchy,

The AnswerBank is a knowledge exchange, where people ask Questions and others give Answers. A very basic concept, but as you can see from the discussions that spring up and the community that is built around what some could term "unimaginative" questions, you will realise that perhaps we too readily dismiss basic/fundamental interactions between people - anonymous or otherwise.

If you want to be involved, you can. Though by posting facetious questions you showed a dismal disrespect for those who only want to help. Thank you for not doing so in the future. There are no doubt tons of lifelong questions or quaint "unimaginative" ones circling in your brain, why not try some out on the AB crowd?

Who knows what interesting tidbits you get out of it.

Again, I take the point. You went to the trouble of starting "Chatterbank", but many of the chatter finds itself in other categories. Can I assume that AB is happy to get the hits in order to please the sponsor, thus your attempt at justification? No need to respond. I've been with AB since the very beginning and I cannot see any evidence of an increase in quality. Take a look at the list of people who started, and how many of them no longer contribute....
youre just jealous boo, go on admit it ner ner ner ner ner  >pixi waves to ed from corner of room< dont listen to her ed

Happy now Ed? You're getting the audience you clearly crave...
How are those sour grapes you're munching on going down Birchy? :-}
Oh ho ho!! I wouldn't put up with that kind of cheek from some wee stroppy pants if I was you ED!! Not with your powerful and exalted position. lol
Pixi - Boo's right hon. teachers pet!! x x x
I only visit here to be daft as a brush as they kick you out of M&S now if you try to mix up all the knicker sizes, can I just not be daft and enjoy it, or should I be daft but not daft enough to be facetious?  I was going to ask who eventually won the ashes but I wouldn't want to appear too thick.......I'll google it instead.

well said Ed!!

I'd like to duck out of all this. Thanks all for your concern!
