Ooo Errr!! Whats that? Never seen one or even heard of 'em before,
It looks scarey.

jem
It looks like a bee with spectacles in that pic.
Oh dear, I'd be scared too, I don't like flying bugs or insects nor creepy crawly ones...will try and steer clear of that one though, it doesn't look very nice at all....eek
Is it the Dame Edna Everage of the insect world.
For those who think that they don't know what a cockchafer is (even though they've almost certainly seen one), here's a more usual view:

BTW: I think that my original image might have been used by Dame Edna's costume designer ;-)
Wearing Dame Edna glasses!
Oh, I see that Treetops1 beat me to it!
. . .and that Maidup is thinking along the same lines ;-)

Well I'm calm enough to go to bed now , in a barrakaded room of course. night all
Front on view makes it look really cute! And am I the only one that finds the name of this insect absolutely hilarious!
Question Author
Well I was'nt attacked in the night..............so one down 6 weeks left to go!!!!!!

Windows now open until dusk.
sophie - I agree, the name is 'dodgy' sounding. Makes me wonder how it came by that name.

I've never heard of them and never seen one. I love all animals - except creepy crawlies and most humans.
