anyway last 2 to get.i've already got answers for both but would welcome advice as to which fits best

it tunnels under a breakwater ?o?e - thinking vole more suitable than mole because of breakwater therefore implying water vole

charge for a letter r?n? - for this i was thinking rent but also coming up with rune which is a letter from ancient norse alphabet -advice and suggestions as stated earlier, much appreciated

rent is correct. A letter is someone who rents out property
I would say MOLE - mole is another name for breakwater at the seaside

I would say RENT - a letter (tenant) pays Rent
Mole is also a type of breakwater
rent is correct - letter being someone letting a property
RENT . . . . for a letter/landlord, someone who lets
