What are you doing about letting the cat out to do its business?
For 4 days now our cat hasn't been out, she meow's to go out but when we open the door she backs off after seeing the snow.
So now she must be busting,
My daughter brought a cat litter tray & litter round today, the cat sniffs it but walks away. do you think the cat will eventually use it?

She's been soo good and hasn't soiled anywhere in the house.

Just wait until you put your slippers on ;-)

You made me smile Chris. Made me think too so I've been all round the house looking in nooks & crannies. Nothing, and no smells either.
(she has scratched in the litter tray though, but got out again)
Perhaps in the night eh?

She couldn't go 4 days without going toilet. She's done it somewhere...you just haven't found it yet.
Throw the thing out for a few hours. that'll fix it.
We have a litter tray out in the garden and ours have been pelting out there to poo - but not nearly as often as they do usually - or sneaking out under some bushes. We know - cos we've seen - that just outside the back door, they are going under the table for a wee. We are going to have to disinfect when the snow melts! They're not eating quite so much, perhaps input = output at the moment.
I'm more worried about their drinking as they won't drink in the house, but their usual birdbath is frozen solid, and they keep kicking over their indoor waterbowl!

ummmm, - You're wrong, A cat can hold it for 7-8 days under duress. our other cat a few years back after being hit by a car & while recovering didn't go for 7 days,
admittedly wasn't eating or drinking much.

BTW she used the litter tray in the night, and this morning now the snow is melting has ventured out.

I don't have to worry,i've had litter trays in my house for years,so no problem.
I went out this morning to see to the catbox, it looks (if you don't mind me saying so) as if they have all been making up for lost time!
