Hi there,
I just went to de-flea my 2 kittens and one 50mg pippette seemed to be way too much for one kitten as it was going all over his fur... Will one split between 2 kittens be enough or does each kitten have to be covered in the 50mg each??
Thanks,
Rachel xx

The dose is based on weight so it all depends on how much each kitten weighs. Some of the treatments are very runny, you have to part the fur and dab it in different places to make sure it gets to the skin. I had the same problem when we started on Advocate - very runny.

Thanks Boxtops :)
Yeah it is really runny!! My kittens ar about 1kg each and it looks like one pippette can do a cat up to 7.5kg so hopefully one split between the two should be ok!
Have you checked that this is suitable for such a small kitten? It is pretty toxic stuff. Check with your vet.
Check with you vet but I always thought the spot on treatment wasn't suitable for kittens under the age of twelve weeks - spray on should be used. - also the spot on should be applied to one place and not on random sites over the body
agree carmalee, sorry if my post wasn't clear. I had a training session with the vet nurse when we moved from Stronghold to Advocate as the new one was so runny, she advised me to dab on different locations at the back of the neck (where the cats can't lick it off), as putting it in one place made it stream through the fur.
Safe to use on kittens over 8 weeks of age and weighing over 1kg in weight

Hi Lankeela - Yes I read in the instructions and you are right. Safe to use on kittens over 8 weeks and at least 1kg!! It just doesnt specify if you use the whole lot of one pipette on a kitten as well as a massive cat!!!
Any help would be cool.
Cheers
I think you'll find that the contents of the pipettes are graded so you get a smaller amount on cats up to 1kg, bigger ones for bigger beasts etc - I get the ones for cats from 4-6kg.... so if you have a small cat pipette, you should use it all.
