I have lost my brush I use for egg wash.
I have no time to go to the shops and buy another one.
Does anybody have a suggestion what else I could use instead of a brush? I wondered about maybe scrunching up kitchen roll and using that? I have no other brush suitable in the house.
Many thanks.

Thanks red.
My daughters second birthday party tomorrow and am making cheesy puff pastry swirls. Will definately go with the spoon idea - much less messy than my kitchen roll idea!
just wash your hands and use your fingers..
I would use my fingers

Great minds think alike hippyhoppy and aniani!
my horrible brush used to shed plastic-ness so reverted to hands/fingers yonks ago... it's chilly but worth it..
paint roller could have worked too
yes Bear - but not with white emultion... (sp?)
Kitchen Towel is what i use.
toothbrush?
paper napkin would work
Use your common sence that usually works.
make up brush, make sure its new and washed several times
Just use clean fingers, works as well as anything!.............
you could lick it on with your tongue-if that was clean
I recently bought a couple of these new silicon pastry brushes to coat pastry. They're fantastic and don't shed bristles as the "bristles" are part of the brush itself. I've never found anything easier to clean either and they're guaranteed for a lifetime. I've chucked all my bristled pastry brushes.
hand in polythene bag
