What is the reason for African greys to go on the side of the cage and flap their wings violently, Dispersing loose feathers and tiny hairs. Is there a cure and what can you do to minimise this.

Exercise, which is essential and I suspect to disperse loose feathers and tiny hairs. Is he getting enough time to excercise outside his cage? Parrots need loads of stimulation and company.

I suspect you are aggravated about the dust and mess, but I'm afraid this is what you get with birds. You can't be houseproud and keep birds! Just resign yourself to clearing up after him.

Hi there a friend of mine has an african grey and after reading your question i decided to ask her and she says its just for exercise as they dont fly they need to do something with them, nothing to worry about.
