walking my dog in the field on sunday i came across a birds nest on the ground with four eggs the eggs were a bluish colur with what looked like a grey running through them anyone know which type of bird would lay these eggs

Did they look like plover eggs?

i dont think so there are no plovers near here and beside i think they were on the small side for plovers

told today by the farmer that they are skylarks eggs thanks for your help
