At least 9% minimum of the uk prison population are convicts in britains jails.
According to a report "An inability to cope with civilian life, particularly for those who joined the services on leaving school, can certainly lead to offending and see someone swapping one institution for another."

Do you thinki its a ticking timebomb?
And what can be done to help these ex soldiers to fit in to civilian life?

I am still totally shocked that the figure of 9% is said to be a low estimate !!

As for childish dont you think it concerning that such a high percentage are exsoldiers?

Seems theres a problem somewhere.

Erm well yes.
According to your own figures you're more than ten times likely to become a criminal if you've never served in the army.

Hope that helped.
You are such a fool...These people lay down their lives for their country... Unlike you., the No. 1 snivelling coward.
I have a theory that you have been turned downed by the forces (obviously too fat to fit through a tank hatch !!
Approximately 20% of UK criminals escape justice by fleeing to live abroad.
You know Octavius, its the same story.
When the heat is turned up, he runs away.
Do you think perhaps a mummy's boy ?
I don't think he's a mummy's boy, he'd have to have some respect/affection/affinity with women for that.
i hope this helps..........i served for 20 years i served in n.i and iraq with the staffordshire regiment i saw some pretty heavy stuff and lost some good mates along the way,but i have NEVER been on the wrong side of the law,and now run my own succesful company, lucky?maybe but its what you focus on when you come out that matters, btw everton123 welcome to the brit on the 14th YOU ARE GONNA GET YOUE A**ES KICKED.....lol

I'm ex-forces myself (though only eleven years) He is trying to goad another guy on here but its wearing very, very thin.
He is just a very weak slob with nothing better to do with his time and he is just not worth any time of day.
-- answer removed --
"8,500 former soldiers" is a very small percentage of total soldiers, when there is about 132,000 soldiers serving at any one time and has a recruitment target of around 25,000 soldiers per year.
Question Author
I merely posted about a story in todays papers.
Surely it is concerning that the figures have doubled in less tahn 4 years.
stoke makes a very valid point.
but are the armed forces in britain creating ticking time bombs or is there another explanation for the phenomenon?

stoke did at least attempt to answer the post.
steg it is a small numvber but large in comparison to 4 years ago
wouldnt you agree?

and the other 91% was made up Leggy types. Drunkard.
This post is aimed at me (ex 4GS)

Hi Stoke mucker

Leg-end is trying to insinuate that because I posted his photo on here last week (thanks kn0bbynonuts for letting me have them) that I am unfit to take my place in civilised society.

Please note that due to leg-end being the proud owner of 59 bellies it need an extra wide lens to get him all in

Cue Pastafreak riding to bell-ends defence like the 7th Cavalry.
