How tall could a ocean wave / tsunami get due to a massive meteorite impact ? I assume the depth of the ocean may have something to do with it ?

There is not enough information to answer your question. Which ocean? (They do not all have the same amount of available water.) How large a meteorite? If it is the size of a bus, there will be less of a spash than if it is the size of Madagascar. It is the size of the spash that will determine the size of the wave. I suppose that if it is a large enough meteorite, the ocean could be sent in all directions and, accounting for 1/3 of the water being flash boiled, the rest would be the resulting wave.
