hi for the past week we have found almost daily a headless bird in the garden all in different spots. they have been both adult starlings and blackbirds. there are not feathers scattered everywhere like when a cat has had a bird. they are perfect in every way but their heads have been cut clean off sometimes the head is found a few feet away from the body other times its nowhere to be seen. can anyone tell me whats getting them its always in the evening between 7 and 9 we have magpies in the garden but i thought they had eggs and young birds and they are not being eaten. i really would like the mystery solved as its really unlpeasent to keep finding them. thanks

it may be seagulls? do you have them around? as I have seen seagulls decapitate a pigeon b4 by swooping 4it. I also seen 1 try n pick up a cat ha ha. was surreal.
either that or u got witch doctors next door .
Our cat used to catch and bring us headless birds. Because he played with them for a while after he'd caught them there were often no feathers lying around, just the sorry little body lying on the lawn.
you obviously get drunk and do it yourself you cruel individual!
freik!

hi cheers for your answers i havnt seen any seagulls about and whatever it getting them its doing it in the garden because the bodies are perfectly in tact not a feather out of place then there is a blood pool and on occations where part of the head is left near the body its only the cap the eyes beak and brain area is missing its like a syler (from heroes) of the bird world
