I am writing concerning the Peugeot Dog advert where one dog is seen signing in a car it then switches to a dog in a queue.
The dog in the queue looks very distressed , it looks scared, tail is down (which always means dog is not happy) agitated and is shaking / quivering.
Now I know adverts like TV programs are vetted to make sure they are can be aired and it may have something to do with the advert but too me looks very cruel to put a dog through this.
Even if it was trained to do this it looks to be very uncomfortable and reckon un-orthodox methods were used to train a dog to act that way.. The poor dog is scared witless.
Comments anyone ?

Yeah, almost as bad as forcing that gorilla to play the drums...
what planet do you live on Lindy?

cos the dog was DEFINITELY singing along in the car, the sad looking one HAD to be getting creul treatment to shake and look so pathetic.
says here American Humane Association were involved, so if the dogs had been ill treated I'm sure the advret would never have got to air.

The ad was actually for the new Volkswagen Polo and has since been removed from our screens due to number of complaints that ITV / Volkswagen received about animal cruelty.
I think it must be just a good actor. Although I'm not sure if the dog in the car and the one out of it are the same mutt.

It would be interesting though, to know exactly how they made the advert.
Oh what a shame it's been removed, it brought a smile to my face everytime.
It was 2 seperate dogs (he had a stunt double!) There was a huge article on it in the Mail on Sunday. Apparently they put the stunt dog on a vibrating plate so that it looked like he was shaking. I'll see if I can dig out the article online as it was actually quite amusing and there was certainly no evidence of animal cruelty!
Strange you're concerned about a dog that appears distressed in an advert, but not the very young children that appear distressed in the NSPCC adverts.
My comments are, it's an advert for a car and if you haven't noticed when the dog is singing it is computer trickery so haven't you ever thought that when it's shaking this is also computer trickery....

I did think it may have been computer trickery but not so sure - at least not the only one who thought was bad hence its been removed.
Ethel the NSPCC adverts Im sure always displays tiny wording to say that none of the children were harmed besides they are all probably actors, for a natural animal to behave the way it was forced to (if not computerised) is much different.
I don't see how the crying baby in the cot can possibly be called an actor.

The dog is trained and well looked after.

The singing dog is computer enhanced - the shivering dog stands on a vibrating plate.

I see far more animal cruelty with pet owners overfeeding their overweight and unfit animals with food that is totally unsuitable for them, leading to health problems and a miserable life.
personally i dont claim to know much about the production of this advert but i am sure that there was nothing wrong with the way it was produced. i am apualed that todays society is pathetic enough to complain about something so petty in contast to the more important issues in life.

on a second look at the advert the suggestion of chemicals being used in the production of the advert is ludicrous. if you watch the jaw line of the dog you can evidently see that the whole mouth has been computor generated. think of films such as disneys "snow dogs" which use simillar techniques.
as for the shaking outside of the car when the dog is in view you cannot see the dogs feet on purpose to hide the vibrating plate.

comments?

one more thing, forget complaining about the animatrix of the dog, hes not even wearing a seat belt!, tut tut tut, you should be ashamed of yourself!!!!!
