flowers from a stranger
24 Answers
Ladies,
If you were walking along the street and a strange man (not necessarily in the literal sense) gave you flowers what would you do?
Would you accept them politely or refuse and walk on?
Would it make a difference if he was gorgeous or a minger as to whether you accepted them?
gents,
would you? could you? Have you?

awwww Boo, thats lovely,. God bless him!
I remember a post from raysparx once about him giving some chocs to the shop assistant agter she said she never got any.
Its not happened to me either, and not likely to either, :-( just wondered how you would react in reality if it did. It sounds a lovely thing to happen, but would you feel a bit weird accepting them?

cruella that is funny! :) How are you? I never seem to be able to ask you that, as I am not answering posts 'til everyone's long gone the day after!
Boo, that is so nice! Is he single? ;)
Yes, jules, I would accept. I would be very flattered. The first time I ever had flowers bought for me, my now-partner had them delivered to work for me before we were actually seeing each other. He didn't admit for ages that it was him. They were beautiful too, I was as pink as they were when my colleague approached me with them! Thank goodness it was the end of the day and fairly quiet!
If I was alone, and it was night time, and I was in an unfamiliar place, however, that might be different...
Are you still cold, love?

How sweet of him Cruella, lol @ the aftershave though!!! :-)
Reminds me of something that happened to me years ago. We lived in a flat above a home for the mentally handicapped because my Mum was a nurse. All the residents were great and integrated into the community, came and went as they pleased.
One day i heard singing underneath my bedroom window and i looked out and it was one of the residents, a Greek guy called Yanis was serenading me with a rose, bless him! I wasn't the first he had done this to though. It was very sweet of him, i was about 18 at the time.

O that would make my day -I was once in Amsterdam -and this 'hobo' -if youve been there you know what I mean -and he came and gave me a flower/weed -I was really excited and it did make my day -bless
Im like Ray -I do random acts -if I see soemone struggling with heavy messages i'll stop and ask if they need a help.
On Remembrance Sunday a few years back an old soldier was leaning against a car -I just stopped and got out -some people were tooting at me -but hell mend them -he was blotto as it happens -he had his medals on -so I loaded him in the car and managed to get him home -just wanted to retain his dignity -it must have been a hard day for him.
An old dear qith a stick had fallen and roled under a car - I just noticed the feet poking out -I again went up to her and she said she had been there for what seemed lik an age.
I garnered some support -we got her out and I took her to hospital
Whoahh -before anyone thinks I am looking for plaudits -Im not -just saying that people chose to ignore those people -who were in distress.
The tulips from Amsterdam -we came back from there and my nannie was dying-we knew - but she didnt know it -we gave her the tulips and she waved them to the ward and sang the song -she died 2 days later but what a lovely memory cos the rest of the old dears joined in singing.Magic !!!

the only flowers given to me by a stranger were from woman in a hospital ward if that counts?
I was very ill & a lady a few beds down on the opposite side was told she was well enough to go home...as she left she brought the stunning bouquet that had arrived the day before from her son & said 'I thought you might like these'...when I asked what her son would say she said in a lovely soft Irish accent 'Oh, he'll buy me some more...'
...gawd, it still makes me fill up 20 yrs on...
