Unlike humans dogs are capable of unconditional love and are only out for their own survival, they don't want to hurt anyone because of superficial differences.

dogs have to poo, as do humans. Luckily, most dog owners will clear up the mess of their dogs.
Dogs very rarely bite people, and if they are prone to biting, i would hazard a guess that most reponsible owners would muzle them outside.

In answer to your question i think its because pets become part of the family, so in the same way as if you had a hyperactive child for example, they might annoy other people, but you are pretty tolerant of it because it's your family.

It's not the dog's fault that their owners don't pick up their pooh ! We have a dog that is part of our family and we wouldn't dream of not cleaning up his mess but I do know what you mean as the footpaths in our village are covered in dog muck. It really annoys me that people can't be bothered.

I just wonder why some non-doggie people are so sad that they have to post the above question in a forum where the majority of contributors will be dog-lovers and highly unlikely to agree with them (which, naturally, makes them the only ones who are right). They'd get a far more balanced discussion going to, say, Society & Culture.

My guess is that these people are unable to lead fulfilling lives for whatever reason and post stuff like this as a plea for attention. The ironic thing is that a properly cared-for dog would probably give them all the attention they would ever need.

If I had an annoying child, i'd know what an iritant it was to others and hence would do my best to stop said child being a nusance. Dog owners tend to explode if you dare to ask them to control their animal. Suddenly you become the bad guy and woe betide you if their darling doggy should condescend to take a lump out of your leg!

Being "eco" friendly , I let my dog do as she pleases . She is never let off the leash in public . Her turds go back into the ecosystem via mother earth .Which in turn regenerates our planet .
But you always get some Prat , who cant see the big picture .
My bugbear is these freaks who complain about everything , and then do not recycle , do not play any part in society ,save to complain about others .

Hi cazzzz , should point out that my dog is only set free , when clear of roads and pavements or anywhere that could cause
offence .

caz, I did say 'generally' and didnt mean everyone. Dogs are given a bad reputation by people and bad owners.

I agree that owners should remove their *rap, but there are other dangerous things left around like needles, broken glass, and some drugs were left on the ground over our local park by some youths and a dog died from eating it, now that could have been a child as well, and this is rubbish we are responsible for.

And what about horse manure, we dont follow behind our horses with a pooper scooper, its all *rap, just the same..
