Milly the kitty was a little bit sick for the first time on Tuesday - fortunately it was clear sick! ;o}

When I was clearing it up, I noticed that she'd swallowed about 3 inches of gold curly foil tape, that I'd used to tie some balloons up with. I'm glad to say she was fine afterwards.

Has your pet swallowed anything unusual or nasty & were they okay?

One of my cats once ate an entire Squirmle ( remember them ? ) and lived happily for many years after the event.

Oh my gawd spiderpig! Amazing your cat was okay after swallowing one of those!

Have to admit, I didn't know what a Squirmle Worm was, so just googled it!
a slightly disgusting story- a long time ago a friend had a collie that loved playing with a knotted sock. One day the sock dissapeared. A few days later another friend-who onwned a Rhodesion Ridgeback- phoned him up to ask if his dog had lost its play sock. On being told yes he said 'I thought so- it's currently hanging halfway out of my dogs backside!!'
My cat swallowed a needle once, it cost a fortune at the vets, but once he'd recovered from the op he was fine for many years after. It taught me thet when I'm sewing to put everything away if I move.

Ha, ha, ha, I can just imagine burnal. ;o} This is disguting too, but - Similar thing happened to my brother's dog Ben. He was out walking with him when Ben stopped for a poo, but seemed constipated. My bro' waited for the inevitable, only see coloured wool appearing! My brother kept pulling & tugging at it when eventually it came to an end! Ben had obviously found a ball of wall from somewhere & had chewed at it & swallowed it! My bro' said he luckily had gloves on & a doggy poo bag - but nevertheless, how revolting!

Oh, your poor cat im stuck. It's bad enough swallowing a fish bone, let alone a needle. Glad he recovered though..
Smudge same thing happened to my friend's cat, she noticed something red sticking out of her bottom, put some gloves on to see what it was, gave it a little tug and the cat walked off as a few inches of tape rolled out of its arse. It was disgusting but I couldn't not laugh.

Oh, that did make me laugh too Goodsy!

I know it's not nice, but when my brother told me about his dog, I was in hysterics for ages!
When I was 10, my Beagle puppy decided to feast on a whole box of crayons. His pooh looked like multi-coloured bullets for the next 2 days! lol PS careful with cats and wool...it can get tangled in their intestins, so DON'T pull!!
Well I could write a book about the things that one of my dog's eaten! Last year, she ate a Christmas cactus that someone'd given me as a present. It included most of the plant pot as well! Luckily, she was fine!
A long time ago now (about 35 years ago) I remember a puppy yelping and obviously having a painful struggle to go to the toilet, only to eventually void some jagged lumps of coal. I believe it was quite comon for puppies to chew coal back then but much less likely nowadays since Maggie has closed virtually all the mines.
Oh well....have to join in.............Will never forget the time my old Dane swallowed a whole ice lolly.... Spent the whole nigh up with him incase it caused problems....it didn't! But I did have the pleasure of on a walk a couple of days later of pulling the stick out of his bum in the middle of my local highroad....how we laughed.....NOT!"!!!!!
One of my German Shepherds years ago swallowed a mouse whole when I tried to retrieve it from her I am gagging as I type this as I can still see it, poor little thing, my dog had a very smug expression on her face as if to say 'YOU ARE NOT HAVING IT, IT IS MINE!!'
I love all animals and it really upset me for a long time afterwards.
The dog survived ok though I did phone the vet just in case the mouse had eaten any poison, she lived to a ripe old age of 13.
LOL Lisa, that must be the ultimate - poo on a stick! or Pooh sticks perhaps.

Love Lolas top by the way, does your daughter know Lola wears her clothes when she is out?
When I was a wee wee sprog our outraged neighbour banged on our door complaining that our cat 'smokey' had pinched an entire roast beef that was cooling on her kitchen worktop, when smokey appeared about two hours later he was as round as a barrel, could hardly move and didn't eat for about two days. We knew he had indeed nicked the beef when we found him going mad turning round and round chasing the string that was hanging out of his bum

Hi Pepe's - thank you for all your answers. It's been fun reading thro' them & made me chuckle.

Pity the poor animals that swallow dangerous things though....
excuse me piggy.....that cardy was from Gap [via Oxfam.....lol..... Bless Lola...she had to have surgery on her elbow, so the clothing was in place of a Buster collar....and she looked totally humiliated for the two weeks she had to wear them for :O} On the plus side she's healing pretty well[for such a major op[she had to have her leg broken] another 2 weeks and she should be allowed out for walkies!!!

Lisa and Lola xxx
Awww poor Lola, glad she is on the mend, I must admit that she does have a slightly 'hang dog' look in the photo!
