It really does not sound like CDRM, to be honest I would get a second opinion from a completely different vet.

Some vets automatically assume that every time they see a GSD it has either CDRM, HD or EPI.

Just read it again. CDRM does not come on that fast! Lots of dogs go off their legs when they are ill (usually as in this case overnight) and many things can cause it.

There is no test for CDRM, the only diagnosis of this condition is after the dog has died, there is a test they can do on post mortem of the dog.
