I would not recommend Bob Martins spot on flea Treatment, here in the uk it is sold over the counter in pet shops , claiming to be the Frontline you get from the vet. I tried it on one of my cats that had a flea invasion, 7 00 for 1 phial, it is rubbish, it does not touch the flea invasion. I went back to the vet and got Frontline for my cat, DONT use this stuff its dangerous and should not be sold over the counter. It made my cat unwell to, she seemed very depressed. These Bob Martin people I am going to complain to the Trading Standards about them.

Its possible your cat had a mild form of poisoning - I found this:

"....thought to be why cats appear to be so susceptible to "over the counter" flea treatments such as Bob Martins, containing pyrethrins made from Chrysanthemum flowers. The fact is that "over the counter" remedies when used inappropriately account for a large number of poisoning enquiries every year. Nearly 70% of reported cases of "shop available" flea treatment poisoning occurs in cats"

Most people are aware that over the counter flea treatments don't work, they are no where near as strong as the stuff you get from the vets which is only available with a prescription. It may be more expensive but is definately worth it.
you can get frontline spot on from online veterinary shops which is cheaper than the vets, you can also buy worming products.

Thank you for your replies, I know I can purchase Frontline on the Internet. I had to take my cat to the vet she was so unwell after this Bobs thingy! I was given a clean bill of health for her except the flea invasion, I was given 5 phials og Frontline Plus cost 15 50, thats 5 months treatment. When you consider old Bobs charging 7 00 for just 1 phial, hes having a laugh there. Any way my cat alot better now thank you once again for the replies.
Years ago my 2 cats were staying with a friend while we were away for a few days. While she was treating her own 4 cats with Bob Martins flea treatment she decided to do mine at the same time. All of her cats and 1 of mine were fine, but my other cat started having fits and had to spend 2 days in the cat hospital on the feline equivalent of something like Prozac! He did recover but it was touch and go and go for about 24 hours. He lost a lot of weight and it took over a week before he as back to his normal self.

For everyone reading this, please don't use Bob Martins treatments. They are cheaper than vet-prescribed remedies but there are a lot of cases of them harming the animals they are supposed to be helping.
I agree - you're better off getting flea treatments from the vet. Also, don't ever use a flea treatment that's meant for dogs on a cat because it'll kill it.
You can buy frontline in ASDA!
