My friend has just moved into a flat which has been empty for a few months and is a bit damp. there are a lot of tiny flies about, particularly on the windowsill where they seem to by dying off. They have very pale wings and a tiny body, only 2-3 mm long. What are they and does she need to do anything about them?

Hi mesmerred. I am not sure what they are called, but have seen plenty of them! So I know what you mean. Once the flat warms up and is properly inhabited they tend to go of their own device, or die off, but if they remain then your friend should see her landlord/environmental health.

Good luck to your friend for a happy home. Lisa x

Hi, thanks for your help. They do seem to be dying for no reason so hopefully that will continue. Thanks again.
