Hi, I suppose that one way would be to put it on and leave it, she won't like and will probably try to get it off but she should settle down eventually. You might want to read this thread.....

I have two kittens now and they are both chipped the elder one wears a collar, but I make sure it is loose enough to slip over her head easily should she get caught on something. I would leave the collar's off completely, but I like the idea of them being tagged as well as chipped, as this lets people know they have an owner without a trip to the vets to have their chips read.

Hope this helps

I wouldn't put a collar on her my kitten 8 months has never worn one but he is chipped. they can to easily get hooked in trees etc
My last 2 cats had collars when they were young and they got used to them but I know they didn't like them. They were always coming home without them so I guess they tore off somehow.
I have my latest 2 kittens microchipped so I'm not going to bother. I know there's a chance that they could get lost but I'm taking the risk coz I just know they'd hate collars.
I'm also assuming that if someone found an injured cat they would get it to a vet and checks would be made.
I agree with clair - why wear a collar. I have mine chipped, pricey but I would hate to find them hanging somewhere.

Hi divegirl
further to other replies - try putting collar on whie kitten is asleep but take off any bell or tag etc, or put it on while she is waiting for dinner to go onto floor, try distracting her all the time with her favourite things, they soon get used to it. Mine wears one, quick release so he won't hang and he has a magnet for catflap on it also. We just buy spares of magnets and collars for when he looses one up a tree etc! Good luck
