Hi,we have 2 aviary's with budgies and cockatiels in and they chew big time, the budgies more than the **********.We have used cuprinol on all the posts and woodwork as this is good and not harmfull to pets.If that helps you, then you are welcome for the info.We did have small amounts of decking left over which we seriously thought about useing as this is treated like the wood you mention...but after a great deal of thinking about it we decided against it just incase.Regards.
hi,the word that has been missed off is the same word that is on the first line after budgies and..........have no idea why it has sensored it.
Tanalised wood is recognised as being safe in the case of humans and most farm and domestic animals. However, one of the companies producing tanalised wood products states that 'Treated wood should not be used with parrots or other gnawing animals, nor in fishponds'.
... and seeing that owls don't chew or gnaw the wood, it is perfectly save to use tanalised timber for their aviary.
