Can cats catch AIDS?

I understand that there is a cat version of aids but I don't think its the same as the human one
FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) causes the same symptoms in cats as AIDS does in humans, and began to be called Cat AIDS. However, these are distinct species-specific viruses. It is now fully understood that FIV is not infectious to humans, the same way that HIV is not infectious to cats. So, technically cats do not catch AIDS, although they are open to FIV which is similar in pathology and process to human AIDS.
There is feline aids but I don't think they can catch the human form of aids.
