As far as I am aware most fish don't have eyelids, but sharks are, in fact, the exception to the rule. They are the only fish in the sea to have eyelids, and, so as not to cause envy amongst other fish ( not that any of them would be so rash as to take on a shark ) their lids are known as nictitating membranes! They are in fact transparent eyelids.


Fish don't need eyelids. The water they swim in keeps their eyes moist.

My Mother In Law does.
