My sister would like to know what the average life-span is for a gerbil. If you can help, it would be much appreciated.

One year or just over is about average, although they can live to three at a push! For a happy gerbil, never have one on its own.

I have seen on two websites that they can live for 3-5 years because i have three new ones myself arn't they just adorable! By the way sugaredone could you tell me what squeaking means is it good or bad and what are they saying please? I've sent an email and if you know could you tell me.
