I have a 20 month old border terrier, who apart from a few probs. is great.

He always chews his bedding. Whenever we have a visitor he gets really excited and pees everywhere. And he always barks at anyone walking past his garden.

If anyone knows how to stop him doing these things please let me know. :)

Anytime your dog does anything out of the ordinary or strange, or wets themselves, make sure he is cleared medically first thru a vet. If you get mad at him and it's a medical problem you'll feel terrible for getting mad. Okay, for the barking check this out:

For the Excitement urination check out:

For chewing problems:

Others will have their own opinion I am sure, there are some good people on here, good luck, and welcome to AB.

border terriers are notoriously slow to mature and the peeing problems are most likely submissive gestures probably accompanied by rolling on his back and exposing his soft underbellyand throat to say he is no threat. does he pee if you raise your voice i bet he does. time will cure this as he is starting to mature by defending his territory. dont chastise him but encourage his good behaviour and let him associate with dogs who are younger to give him more confidence. replace his bedding with stuff he doesnt like to chew eg straw and give him plenty of doggy chews cos he is probably still teething.
Best thing to do is ignore you're dog once you come in dont speak or pet him, until he has settled down abit with excitment l have a boxer as you can lmagine the mess he was making was getting out of hand this has work for me he calm's down alot quicker so he can be petted.
