First day of the Ebor meeting today sees 3 small field Group races but also 4 large field handicaps. Hopefully there will be enough strong stats to whittle those fields down to a manageable size :-)

Had a look and made my choices Ken. Get on early and go out for a walk. The bleedin rain has stopped at least but not what you call high summer weather. Feel sorry for the folk who have paid good money to visit the area and who have been cowering under cover for about 5 days. No linen and panamas on display at York either I bet. ITV7 gone to Bath and Carlisle???? Beats me.

E/W Acca, Trebles, Doubles. Extra places taken where offered. Good Luck if you are having a flutter.

Copper Knight @18/1 1.50York
Yibir @17/2 3.00York
Elysian Flame @8/1 4.10York
Ventura Flame @18/1 4.45York
ITV7 ... the top 2 with Perfect News, Tyson, Noble Truth, Sea Oscar, Mishriff.

Intermittent showers here, Togo. Makes going for any length of walk a bit of a gamble:-(

As indicated in my OP, i'm concentrating on the 4 handicap races at York in which there are enough stats for me to knock a few out (usually the first ones with a line through them pass the post in first place :-/) though i've had to use gut feeling in the 4.45 as it's only the race's 2nd year. And, as per usual, the e.w. acca is with Sky who are offering extra places on all handicaps.

1.50; Live In The Moment @ 12/1 - 7 places
4.10; Platform Nineteen @ 8/1 - 6 places
4.45; Tweet Tweet @ 7/1 - 5 places
5.20; Jadhlaan @ 7/1 - 6 places

4 x £2 wins, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 places = poss £47, 4 winners = poss £9,070.

ITV 7; Live In The Moment, Perfect News, Tyson, Noble Truth, French Conquest, Kemari and Love. £1 e.w. acca.

Best of luck.

Great start for you, Togo, well done with sticking with Copper Knight. I passed it over very reluctantly but you know how much i like my CD winners, so i put it in a 30p Rev Combi F/C with my selection and Soul Seeker. Got £57 back for my £1.80 :-)
OOhhh close. Had 5 winners in the ITV7 and a 10 acca paid me a few coppers short of £190. The two winners owe me £90 already and though non runner did me no favours but they are offering me £300 odd to cash out before the last runs. Let it ride I say and have 10 times the offer if it comes. I already have just short of £300 regardless. Good job I was out I would have needed my b/p tablets. :))
Ne'er mind ay. Still a good day. The non runner workings, they call it a treble and 2 extra doubles, mean I finished with about £440 profit, which nicely pays for our September mini break.
I had my eye on Jadhlaan in the last, after looking this morning, so will have a little single on that one. I note that you had it as well Ken. JUst looked at my paper and I have marked it with !
Question Author
Good 'arrers', Togo :-) A win for Jadhlaan in the last would, of course, be quite nice, but if it finishes in the first 6 i'll have just over £50 back, plus the £16 from Tweet Tweet and the combi rev f/c earlier. Not as much as you back, but would still be a decent first day at York:-)
Biggest disappointment of the day was Noble Truth - ran no sort of a race. Just glad i wasn't relying on it for anything other than ITV7.
Question Author
Stuck it in a rev f/c with Aristobulus.

8th!
Had a squint at tomorrow at York and make a big mental note that Ryan Moore rides for Hannon in the second race. When he is on for the Irish connections you can never tell what they have cooked up tactics wise, but his strike rate for Hannon is impressive indeed.
Cost me a 6 timer Ken, and 6 more 5 timers :(( Big money.

Just had a peek, myself, and disappointed to find there are only 2 handicaps to get my teeth into.
On early again today, need to nip out for routine blood test. Gone for a bit of value again when possible and taken extra places where on offer. Done the ITV7 again after a near miss yesterday. Left out the odds on in my cheeky multi bet on the selections.
Done a York flutter ... E/W Acca, Doubles, & Trebles on these 4.

Oh Herberts Reign @12/1 2.24York
Baashir @10/1 3.00York
Dubai Fountain @9/1 4.45York
Agincourt @11/1 5.20York

The first 2 of those with Desert Dreamer, Flip Mode, Mercian Prince, Spirit Of The Bay, Snowfall, in the ITV7. Good luck if you are having a go.
Question Author
Afternoon, Togo, and good luck with your selections. Would have been on earlier but i've been dithering over my selection in the 3.00 York. As you know, i am a big fan of Maydanny but if he were to win today, on 10st, he would be breaking the weight-carrying record for this race (9st 10lbs). Added to that my theory on the 'Goodwood bounce' (as discussed on here some time ago) and i have very, very reluctantly passed him over - did that yesterday with Copper Knight and look what happened :-/

2.50 Che; Fashion Free @ 11/2
3.00 Yor; Baashir @ 10/1 - 7 places
3.25 Che; Inner Circle @ 11/2
5.20 Yor; Improvised @ 4/1 - 5 places

4 x £2 wins, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = poss £22, 4 winners = poss ££2,932.

Also had a £2 win on Pennymoor in the 4.45 @ 15/2.

ITV 7; Above qualifiers, plus Sandrine, Flip Mode, System, YCCS Portocervo and Snowfall. £1 e.w. acca.

York placepot; 1-17-11-7-2-10
Situation normal today here Ken. Haha. Try again tomorrow.
On early again Ken. Get myself out and have a walk. Gone for the once in a lifetime shot today but the picks have a bit of reasoning behind them. The usual E/W Acca, Trebles, & Doubles and all done as singles. Extra place taken on the first. Again done the ITV7 and the small stakes multi bets. Good Luck if you have a go.

Scarlet Gold @12/1 1.50 York
Orazio @8/1 3.00York
Dakota Gold @40/1 3.35York
Cuban Dancer @40/1 5.20York

ITV7 the top 3 with Mo'asses, Stradivarius, Waldlowe, Novak. Have put a £1 Acca on those 4 as well and having a think about whether to do the mug's double on the two "Vintage" runners.
Question Author
Best of luck, Togo. Just about to start sifting through the stats. Will definitely be having a look at your 2 'biggies' :-)
Question Author
1.50; Dark Jedi @ 8/1 - 6 places
3.35; Winter Power @ 7/1 - 5 places
4.40; Jewel In My Crown @ 5/1 - 4 places
5.10; Marsabit @ 16/1 - 6 places

4 x £2 wins, 20 Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = poss £51, 4 winners = poss £9,159.

Also like the look of your Dakota Gold, Togo. Will need a personal best but absolutely loves York. I would have happily settled for 33/1 for 5 places with Sky but they are only offering 28s, so i've taken the 40/1 with 365 to the 4 places.

ITV7; above qualifiers, plus; Mo'asses, Stradivarius, Mount Marcy, Battyeford Boy and Lusail. £1 e.w. acca.

Best of luck, all.
Question Author
Also done a lucky 15/e.w. acca at the other 2 afternoon meetings; Primo's Comet, Toussarock, Tyger Bay and Smart Lass for a possible £1k return.
Question Author
Had to have a couple on Vintage Clarets. Would've been kicking myself if i hadn't and it wins. Too short a price for e.w..
