Does anyone know what happened to the cattle that used to roam freely on Wanstead Flats in east London?

Here

Probably like most other things around Wanstead Flats, they got nicked.
Interesting site. I used to ride round the epping forest area and I always thought the 'herds' of cows looked like they had been nicked from different farms - they were all different colours and breeds.

I live around this area, and haven't seen any for years.

There is a theory that they mysteriously disappeared two days before one of Johnny Gardiner's infamous "Bonfire Night Barbeque" partys in Forest Gate back in 1989.

However, I am of the opinion they made good and moved out to Essex.

Yes but there are still a few silly ones around Manor Park
yea last time i remember seeing cows around Wanstead must of been a good 8/10 years ago, silly really i liked the fact they wandered around. Another question where did they come from in the first place??
