My five year old cat has been neutered and weighed 4.5 kg. However for the past couple of months she has been extra hungry and is putting on weight around her tummy. I feed her hiLife pouches or cans of Whiskas with some dry food, not large portions but three or four times a day she asks for food now. Can you recommend a better diet for her, would cooked chicken or fish be better? Or a different brand of preferably wet food? She is not an indoor cat and otherwise healthy.

The Lady Iris (moved in some years ago without permission having been abandoned by her 2 previous families who moved away and left her) has 1 pouch in the morning and small bowl of dried food early evening...she doesn't ask for food as she has realised she won't get any.....she sometimes gets a chew stick..but rarely....her tum is also round but she doesn't leave the garden and doesn't catch birds etc. I would limit her meals to twice a day and not give in to the big eyes! Get her a health check at the vets.
Wow Mally, what a lucky cat !!
