I would like to give a small dog a good home, but being part disabled, I wouldn't be able to take it for walks, so would there be dogs needing a home that dont require exercise, I have a garden? Thanks.

hi TRT. With respect, you are not able to give a dog a good home by the sound of it, as a good home includes exercise/socialisation

Thanks bednobs, you didnt read my post properly.

I said I would like a dog that might be disabled, as they are not all put to sleep these days.
even disabled dogs need taking out. There are no dogs that dont need exercise
Bednobs is right, but get in touch with a reigning centre. They are keen to match the right dog with the right human so you might get lucky.
Reigning should be rehoming.

What about an indoor cat?
what about a cat trt?
yes there are dogs who don’t need much exercise and dogs who dislike “socialisation” Can I suggest that you talk to local rescues and maybe also to national ones who have local branches? There are often older dogs who just want a comfortable home and a loving owner.
I can see what you are thinking T, maybe an older dog that just requires TLC, you can employ a dog walker .
Yes of course there are dogs that are disabled or elderly that don't need to be taken for walks and some charities actively seek out elderly or disabled clients who are likely to be in all day to rehome them with, and there are groups like 'Borrow my doggie' who will borrow your dog for walks days out etc as well. Contact your local dog re-homing groups, it's just a case of finding a suitable match.
Maybe a retired greyhound? Contrary to popular belief, they do not need loads of exercise. One good run a day...if you can hire someone to do that...would be fine. Other than that, they are lovely, gentle couch potatoes.
Hmmm...just realised you said small. Greyhounds can curl up into small(ish) balls....;-))

Well thanks folks for the sensible answers after bednobs post, much appreciated.

Cats are not my cup of tea, by the way.
Not mine much trt but we inherited 2 ragdolls !
bedknobs doesn’t often have little moments like that....maybe the weather has given her a headache?
I hope it works out for you t, :-)
Not all dogs need exercise, especially those who are getting on in years and perhaps a bit rickety. (I had three old crocks who lived happily for several years with just the garden to snuffle about in). Why don't you ask at your local rehoming centre? They would be able to tell you if they have a dog you could care for. They're likely to be very grateful for the enquiry. Good luck.
I want that wee dog :-)
^There you go! :o)
^That was to hc4361.
