He's been home 24 hours, and has shown no real interest in food. Other than that he seems OK in himself. He is precariously balanced on my knee at the moment...as I type with one hand and use the other hand to stop his big bum sliding onto the floor.
I am just worried as I need to get his meds in him,and I know if I go the 'wrap cat in towel' route,I'll never be able to catch him again.:-(

What about a nice tin of tuna?
Question Author
Well..he's rejected white fish, minced chicken, the pricey little pot of cate ate that he usually scoffs....I guess tuna is next.
My cat got a stomach infection last weekend, he was very angry and could not keep anything down, synulox are fine without food, metacam should be taken with food, I had no other option but to give him the dose of metacam without food he was in so much pain but refused point blank to eat but next morning he was up and eating, he is fine now, ziggy is a cat also, 24 hours is not long without food, we do worry, I never slept saturday night, x
2 pretty foolproof ways I used to get meds into one of my Siamese...
crush the pills, and mix into Dairylea, or mix into ice cream. Worked every time with Chah Lee, he loved a little ice cream.
Did you say previously he was having operation re teeth or am I mixing posts up. Tuna is usually something they can eat as it smells quite strong. If surgery was for teeth then maybe his mouth is still sore. Pate cat food is soft and possibly may eat that easier. Sorry if I have posts wrong.
Question Author
You are correct furry...I tried pate, and I think he gave it a few licks. I'll try a bit of cheese later.
I have a vision of many opened tins and packets on my future....;-)

He's seeing the vet tomorrow,so I'll get some advice then.
Question Author
@ chicken stock...synolux is what he's getting. 1/4 of a tab.
He could just be taking the p1$$.
Chicken stock......lol its chickensrock, synulox antibiotic is fine without food, caspers mouth must be so sore, would you eat after extractions, but we would take the amoxicilan anyway, why did the vet not give pain relief? Metacam, 1/4 a dose of synulox is very low, how many teeth did he have out?
Question Author
Oops...that was predictive text...I DID type it correctly...lol
The vet gave pain relief just before I collected him yesterday.
Ask the vet for a syringe without a needle so you can crush it and squirt it down the side of his mouth in some cream or milk
Question Author
The vet gave him a long lasting antibiotic injection today. He has parked up considerably, and has eaten a tiny bit.
Question Author
*perked up*
good, onwards and upwards now.
He's parked up? - Jaguar.....?!

Seriously - I wouldn't worry, he's probably still suffering a bit from the anaesthetic, and it won't hurt him not to eat. I give No. 1 Son his daily Metacam through one of those blunty syringes straight into his mouth, I had to do the same for Black Spot when he had a tooth out last month. Don't overtry to feed him or he'll pick up on your anxiety about it - he'll eat when he's ready, just make sure he's drinking and weeing...
That's better news, once his mouth isn't so sore he'll be eating you out of house and home
