I appear to have lots of these in my flat (kitchen and bathroom). I've found out on the internet what they are and that they're attracted to newly plastered walls and new buildings which would fit. Has anyone had these and how did you get rid of them? Apparently they're very difficult to get rid of.

I have heard that keeping the infested site well aired and well lit will do the trick eventually, but that an immediate effect can be achieved by using a pyrethrum aerosol, available from vets, pet shops etc.

Kilala - i should have said that both my bathroom and kitchen are internal rooms so not easy to ventilate anymore than they already are. Will get some of that aerosol though and hopefully that should get the little b****rs, thanks!

Try a Dehumidifier in the rooms

Then a blooming good investment would be a de-humidifier.  About 80, and they reduce the moisture content in the air- I use mine a lot in winter when clothes are hanging around to dry indoors and not many windows are open.  This will keep your rooms less 'muggy.'
