We saw a whitish red striped jelly fish today close to the shore at Hythe in Kent UK. Anybody know anything about this particular species?

Probably a Compass jellyfish (Chrysaora).

Useless piece of information - they change sex, starting out as male then changing to female.
Deffo a compass jellyfish

Thankyou each for your replies. Apparently they can cause nasty painful weals on humans. Must keep away from them!
