I may not be fully correct, but I belive the pig is the only other mammal with external sweat releasing cells.

Not only do they sweat like Humans, they also suffer from "sun burn"!

Maybe, its the high content of fat close to the skin surface that releases the moisture?

As my old English teacher said to us at school;-
horses sweat, men perspire, ladies simply glow.

My friend replied with 'well then, miss, I'm glowing cobs'

I am also glowing today.

You've only got to watch the start of a horse-race to see that there is at least one animal which sweats a lot more than the average pig! Horses are in a positive lather sometimes. Here is an extract from a similar thread on another website...

"Pigs, apparently, are pretty poor sweaters and in some breeds they hardly sweat at all. Whilst hens don't sweat, cows sweat better than pigs. However, the undoubted king of the sweaters is the horse. Many of us rudely refer to fat people as 'pigs' and large people do usually sweat more than skinny people. Perhaps it is from that - or that liquid pours off a roasted pig?"

I think the human (fat) or roast-pig connections are more likely than actual pig-sweat myself.
