Just rescued a laydybird type thing from my ice cold lager in the Corfu sunshine and just wondered.

But to get back to your question, wasps certainly get very pissed up and aggressive on fermenting windfall apples
Wasps get so drunk on my plums I can just pick them up (the wasps)

I put a glass of beer out to kill off the slugs and snails and after having their fill they all crawled out again - obviously none the worse for wear and very happy.

Don't know about insects though. I suppose they are affected in that they would drown.

Ice cold lager and Corfu sounds great.
