Is it possible for bird poo to be black?

Is it possible for bird poo to be black - as i have what looks like black bird poo on my car,splashed over it.cant decide whether its that or someones deliberately splashed my car with mud - NEIGHBOURS FROM HELL.

Yes, it can be any colour, depending on what they've eaten - in Sunderland town centre where I work, it's usually the colour of curry sauce; where I live it's usually the colour of berries! You could sniff it and lick it to check if it's mud....
depends what they have been eating but normally purplish so would guess its mud

If there are lots of red berries around then it could well be black and if they've overdosed quite loose.
mud isn't black where I live, it's bird poo coloured ;-p
that's when they've been eating elderberries it looks black
If they've been eating elderberries perhaps or constipated!
You will know the answer when you try and wash it off. Mud will wash off easily. Bird droppings will be hell to remove!
You must get some bird poo off as soon as possible, because it can damage
your paintwork.
yes, it's whatever that have been eating, dark berries most likely.

Thank you to everyone for their advice - unfortunately, this was a SERIOUS question - the BLACK substance does seem very easy to remove,unlike bird poo.
what did you do to so upset the neighbours!
