Strange Arachnid

Whilst driving back from walking the dogs this afternoon a strange arachnid fell into the car from the trees above. It was ghostly white with a slight hint of light green on the back of its body. It had a large bulbous body and was about the size of a common garden spider but it's front legs were spread apart which looked very unusual. Could it have been some sort of large Tick?

one of the crab spiders..... they come in various shades of pale green, yellows and white
