Following my recent post on Tobacco Beetles (which I now think may be common carpet beetles) but either way does anybody know if they eat foam?  Thanks

I once had a flat which had a problem with wooly bears, which I think are the larvae of carpet beetles. I don't know about foam, but they eat wool (ate my friends favourite jumper!)

thanks spudqueen, yes the woolly bears are the larvae and I had a wool cover over my seat so I've now removed that - the only thing is I'm using a futon as a seat and of course it's filled with wool so it worry's me that they could breed inside it (although I've found no holes as yet!) but underneath that I have foam as padding - so if they do eat that as well - I'm providing a banquet for the little *******!!! LOL!!
I don't know about foam but they do love soft tissue paper oceanauk.  I found a tissue that had fallen over the back of a cupboard (must move the funiture more often!) & there were tiny little round holes in it.  I'd do a quick check around the back of cupboards (inside) too where a loo roll or tissues might have been pushed behind other things.  These tiny little things make a lot of work don't they?!
