Why is the countryside alliance not prominently supporting the Tories who have made a manifesto pledge to end the ban on fox hunting??. Also the countyside alliance who promised great battles are being very quite during this election canvassing time. Why??

you are right, its there in policies but you jolly well have to hunt for it.(ha! unintentional joke) I suspect that the silence is because some kind of lie low and we'lll see you right arrangement has been made by one or more parties
Probably because they realise that for the vast majority of people in the country it is a non-issue, so they are keeping quiet in the hope that they won't embarass the Tories
its a good point you have raised why dont you email them and ask? then you can tell us what they say..
i agree, for those country "Folk" its not an issue cos all those stupid idiots have carried on hunting anyway. as for the Tories, dont even get me started on those lowlifes... they are wise to be keeping their mouths quiet in my opinion because they dont want a major uproar again during election time. very crafty, but looking at things realistically, they wont win the election anyway so they should concentrate on issues the public will support them on, not raise hunting issues again which will only create another protest.
Because country folk already know the tories support fox hunting. If they made it into a new campaign subject, they know its an easy target for rivals to attack, as the pro arguments are so weak. Therefore the tories would probably suffer more than gain in prospects to get re-elected
Has any of you ever seen what a fox can do to a hut full of chickens?
Foxes are vermin just like rats, pigeons etc.
They are lucky because they look cute and so have lots of people defending them.

Silly Moo (apt name).

Regardless of whether foxes are vermin (I've had chickens attacked and eaten by foxes) it does NOT make it right for a bunch of people to jump on their horses and chase the animal until eventually it is caught and ripped to death by dogs. I agree they need to be kept under control, but making a game out of killing animals cannot be refuted as being wrong...

Silly moo...

The fox is the only natual dog left in this country, and yes I have seen what a fox can do to a chicken hut.

To use that argument to support hunting is lame. If a hut and run is correctly built as it is at our local farm, then the fox won't get in. Just becaue when the fox does get in and causes havoc does that mean we have to behave in the same manner. A fox is a wild animal not vermin. It behaves as a wild animal does but fox hunters do not have one viable excuse for what they do. Its a vile and cruel passtime. They are supposed to be civilized human beings for heavens sake. Would you set one dog upon another and watch the result? would you then let your children watch? would you then smear the blood of a dead dog all over your childs face? If the answer is yes then there is something horribly wrong with you.

Sorry but to have no respect  the lives of the creatures we share this planet with leads to having no respect for your own kind.

Hunting is not being used as an issue because nothing has changed.  yes the laws are in place but, going from what happened up here in Scotland, you can still hunt (so long as you use a gun to despatch the animal), and you can still use a pack a dogs (as long as you claim they are being used 2 at a time in relay).

Besides the hunt season is about to end, so there would be no newsworthy stand offs or demonstrations.  I expect it won't be an issue again until the hunts recommence after the summer.
