A hare will spend most of it's time above ground, feeding and sheltering etc. When it does have young, leveret's, it will give birth simply in a hollowed area of soil. They prefer to have young in something called a form, which is simply an area under some shrubbery or a branch where shelter and protection is provided, maybe in the middle of a thick bush.
