The cliff tops are alive with small birds. noisily claiming territory and attracting mates. Isn't it a great time of year to be a birder!
Anyone seen swallows yet?
Tree sparrows have found our garden feeders and are getting on with the house sparrows.

No Swallows or swift in the very sunny south yet, but will keep you posted as I do believe all the Swift live in my roof!!!!!!!!!
how long does birds use their nests or do they build new every year
I've just checked and I posted on here that I'd seen my first swallow last year on 7th April! Not yet this year though.
Yes we have swallows nesting already in our stables. They usually arrive mid April, this year I first noticed them on the telephone wires on the 2nd April, much earlier than usual. Loving this season. Watched huge flocks of Redwings depart a couple of weeks ago, brilliant sight.
