catnip toy mistakenly given to the dog

My mam bought a toy for the dog which is actually a catnip toy. Is catnip harmful to dogs as we can't seem to get the toy back off him.

Though dogs prefer anise, it's their catnip.

Seems to like the toy which is a mouse teddy more than his others.
My dog has completely destroyed every catnip toy I've ever bought for my cats - he's a big bully :)

Nah, he just chews anything - I keep finding soggy socks on the floor :)
Perhaps your pooch has a transspecies problem?
hiya my dog prefers catnip toys as to her normal dog toys i got her one accidently, i thought it would be gd as she is a hunter for her to have a toy that moves didnt reliase it was for cats though and she loves it and has had it for nearly a year now although when i found out it was cat toy shes only alloud it when she been really gd as a treat

^^^ often found crashed behind the bins with a lit mouse-toy in her gob.
My dog loves them, but does think he's a cat:-)
