re seloxine tablets for dog

sorry forgot to put the details my vet receptionist says there is a law that our dog has to have regular check ups for his seloxine tablets he has been on these since a young dog of 1yr and i have never heard of this Law he has one daily and will be for his whole life for thyroid problems stops him putting weight on He is now 12 years old he was only at vets December now they are wanting him in again??? Does anyone else have this as we have never heard of this before?? Our old vet never did this we just took him in when he had to have a yearly check up and injections etc thanks

Then your old vet was unfortunately breaking the law. My dog has been on them for over a year now, and even though my vet is brilliant I still have to let him see the dog every few months before he will give me a repeat prescription. Its a small price to pay to know the dog is on the correct medication/dose.
yup, as I answered above, the law says every six months or more often if the vet thinks its necessary
