Why does my Cat scream like he has been stepped on?

My cat is 5 years old and last week and again tonight he has screamed like he has been stepped on by someone. The first time he did it, I know he was unhappy because he wanted more food and I didn't give him any because he had eaten and it was late. After he screamed, stared at me for a minute, he ran down the stairs where I let him out.

Tonight I shooed him out of a room and as he went out the door he screamed again. When I ran out to see what was wrong, he was sitting on the stair looking at me. His back wasn't arched or anything. It does seem as though he does this when he is angry with me maybe. I'm not sure.

Should I be worried?

Your cat , if it is of a mixed breed, could have some siamese in it, they are known to be quite vocal. Often times they holler for no reason at all.
My 5 month old cries very loudly for no reason. He's spoilt, and if he wants to leave a room he expects us to follow.
I said mine 'cries'

If he done that I think I would have to (animal people are watching) tell him off firmly....
I'd make a similar noise if cooped up in a wire cage with a camera thrust in to my face...
It's all part of the game snagged ;-)
That would frighten me, could he have some sort of pain that only attacks him now & then. Perhaps the vet should x-ray him to eliminate anything sinister or correct the problem. After all we all wince with pain at sometime or other but we can tell someone. Is this his way of telling you?
