Quiet pump for my Aquarium

My old Interpet 400 pump packed up today so I went down our local aquatics shop and purchased a new (Sonnar) pump. Very quiet it says on the box. It has a very loud vibrating hum and is driving me mental. It will probably be in the bin by tomorrow.
All manufactures claim to have the quietest pumps, which I suspect is TOSH. Can someone please recommend a QUIET pump please. Your recommentations will be much apreceated. My tank is 5ft X 24" X 20" so it needs to be reasonably big with a dual outlet.
