many years ago I had a pet GP who was so, so friendly. He used to come everywhere with me - I made a little harness and took him out for the day in the countryside much the same way you'd take a dog. He would make high pitched squeaky/whistling noises when ever he heard me coming - you could hear it a mile off. He would also make chattering noises when he was trundling about the place. He also systemaically grazed the carpet beneath the bed! Left huge bare patches - obviously that couldn't have been good for him but he survived for a couple of years. Great pet and just so cuddly. Good luch with yours and enjoy him.
meant good luck!

thanx for the reply carmalee, so i take it the noises he is makin is just the noises he makes in general, i think wen he is squeakin as if he is talkin is wen he is happy and the chitterin is wen he is in his cage, perhaps maybe a little afraid??
been away hence delay in replying. couldn't really say about the chittering noises - I didn't think for one moment my beastie was frightened - he just seemed to be talking to himself and anyone in the vicinity - kept the high pitched whistling for when he was excited. regular gentle handling is the key I reckon.
Generally with our GP's( who all lived indoors and roamed around), squeaking meant they were hungry/had smelled fresh grass outside/heard the fridge door open/ heard the front door open, and were asking for food!
The brrrrrrrr noise they made, was usually when they got ummm, excited- but only really heard it whe we had 2 GPs together.
Little high pitched squeaky yelps, was fear, panic or pain.
