my friends horse has a wolf tooth, is it safe to have it removed or is there a risk.

Safer to have it removed as it can cause problems particularly if the horse is ridden, as the bit can push it into the cheek, or other gum and can cause discomfort. The bit might not sit well in the mouth if it is in the way. If the horse is old and/or is not ridden then it might be ok to leave, but an equine dentist will advise. In most cases it is a relatively minor op.
